DAVID
FOSTER
David Foster is the President and CEO of Foster
Remodeling Solutions, Inc. (FRS), a Design/Build
remodeling company in Northern Virginia, founded by
Mr. Foster in 1983. Mr. Foster has more than 24
years of experience in the Remodeling and
Construction industry; he attended Northern Virginia
Community College and Sandler Sales Institute where
he studied Construction Management and Sales. Mr.
Foster has been active in the National Association
of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) since 1989. In
1992, he received NARI's Certified Remodeler
designation. He has served on NARI's Ethics
Committee since 1993. Mr. Foster has also been a
member of Remodelers Executive Round Table (RER), a
think tank for remodeling executives since 1998.
Foster Remodeling Solutions' achievements have been
recognized by the remodeling industry numerous
times. In 1996, Qualified Remodeler Magazine named
FHI one of the top 500 Remodelers in the country. In
May 1998, Remodeling Magazine listed FHI as one of
the leading 50 Remodelers in the U.S. In 1995, Mr.
Foster recognized a need to bring
remodeling-specific management software to the
industry and in 1998 he teamed up with a group of
software developers; this collaboration resulted in
the software called ImproveBuild Remodeler's
Business Solutions. Foster Remodeling Solutions,
Inc. now uses Improvebuild RBS in its operations. In
2000, the Foundation for Applied Technical
Education, Inc., a partner in the Fairfax County
Public Schools construction technologies training
program, appointed Mr. Foster to its Board of
Directors

RODDY
RING
As the Production Manager of Foster Remodeling
Solutions, Inc. Roddy started in residential
construction in 1985 as a carpenter’s helper for
summer income during college. He graduated from
Hamilton College in Clinton, New York in 1987 with a
major in economics. After that, he joined the
construction industry full-time with a small
contractor in the Alexandria. In 1993, Roddy
returned to school at the George Mason University
School of Law with the intent to get involved in
commercial construction and land-use law. The
curricula at the George Mason also centered heavily
on business management and economics. Following two
years of work in commercial law practice, Roddy
decided to return to the residential remodeling
business. Through the good advice of one of his
former business associates in Alexandria, Roddy met
David Foster to discuss employment opportunities in
the Fall of 1999. Roddy has been with Foster
Remodeling Solutions ever since then.

CHRIS
ARNOLD
Chris, brings over 15 years of experience in the
construction industry to the Foster team. He studied
Architectural Drafting in high school and then went
on to the Northern Virginia Community College. After
college, Chris worked for several remodeling
companies designing additions, estimating projects,
creating working drawings and obtaining building
permits. Additionally, he spent time in the field as
a carpenter apprentice where he gained valuable
hands on experience. Chris spent the next nine years
with the largest distributor of Merillat Cabinets in
the U.S. as Kitchen Designer, Salesman, and Branch
Manager. During this time he assisted the company
with their transition from a Wholesaler to a
Retailer. In 2000, Chris changed direction slightly
and worked for an Insurance Restoration Company as a
General Manager. In 2004 a former coworker
introduced Chris to David Foster and the rest is
history.

ROSS
MANSFIELD
Born and raised in
Stafford, VA. Ross graduated from Longwood
College in May 1999 with a BS in Business
Administration with a Concentration in
Accounting. After working in the public
accounting world for six years, Ross has made
the switch to the private sector, joining the
Foster team as Accountant in July 2005.

PONCE
IZQUIERDO
Ponce grew up in New York and migrated to the
Washington D.C area to attend Howard University
School of Architecture, where he obtained a
Bachelors of Architecture Degree in 1985. The area
was such a pleasant difference from New York City
that he decided to remain after completion of his
studies. He immediately took a position with a
commercial Architecture and Engineering firm as a
Project Architect. His duties included preparing the
hotels, high rise office buildings and
research/development buildings. After four years of
commercial architecture, he turned to residential
remodeling and worked for two top 500 Washington
area design/build firms. He joined Foster Remodeling
solutions, Inc. in September of 2002 as a Project
Architect. Here he continues to do what he loves the
most, bringing our client's visions to reality.

DOREEN
FAWCETT
Doreen is Foster Remodeling Solutions’ Office
Manager. She joined the Foster team in July
2006, bringing with her 15 years of administrative
experience. Most recently Doreen was the
Project Assistant for GHA Services Inc., a
successful construction project in Arlington.
Her diverse background includes four years in
newspaper advertising for the Potomac News in
Woodbridge and five years as an Assistant to the
Director of Education with Coldwell Banker Stevens
Real Estate in Tyson’s Corner.

SCOTT
DAVIS
Scott has over 15 years experience in the
construction field. A proud native of
Northern Virginia, he has watched the area
grow. He has worked in the office supply,
remodeling and plumbing fields. He has
extensive experience in construction project
management and sales. After seven years in
the plumbing construction industry, Scott
decided to return to the remodeling
field. Scott truly enjoys working with
homeowners to bring their design visions to
reality. Scott uses his design skills and
the architectural team at Foster Remodeling
Solutions to help his clients fulfill their
dreams. Scott shares David Foster’s passion
for quality, fairness and value.

JENNIFER AUSTIN
A life long aficionado of design, Jennifer
brings a rare blend of creative strengths to
the Foster team with a strong foundation in
studio art, art history, textiles, color
theory, and architecture. Having several
years of experience in event planning and
catering, she is particularly competent in
the area of functional kitchen design,
creating spaces that are both practical and
aesthetic. Jennifer approaches each project
with careful attention to the nuances of her
client's lifestyle, character, and desires.
She has the exceptional ability to work with
radically different styles according to each
client's taste, reveling in the opportunity
to work with a variety of personalities to
being their vision to life. As native of
Northern Virginia, she has a soft spot for
renovating historical properties in the area
to preserve their natural charm. At the same
time, she enjoys staying on the cutting edge
of new product development in the evolving
field of residential design. Jennifer holds
a degree in Interior Design from James
Madison University and is currently pursuing
NKBA certification as a Kitchen and Bath
Designer.

ANNE MCNAMARA
Anne
joined Foster Remodeling Solutions in 2006
with over 16 years of experience in the
industry. She has been a kitchen and bath
designer, in the Northern Virginia area, for
the past ten years. She moved here from Boca
Raton, Florida, where she specialized in
custom cabinetry. She designed kitchens,
home offices and home theater systems during
her tenure. Her creative background and
remodeling expertise have given her the
skills to excel as our Production
Coordinator.

HERMAN JOHNSON
Herman brings seven plus years of remodeling
experience to the Foster team. After leaving
Virginia Tech, where he studied interior
design, he began his career with a top 500
design build firm in the Washington, DC
area. While there he was involved with every
aspect of design, renovation, and
construction of projects ranging from
replacing existing kitchens and bathrooms to
large scale multiple level additions; all
the while, gaining an understanding and
appreciation for structures, house types,
traffic/flow patterns, and individual
families’ needs and desires. He arrived at
Foster in the early part of 2008 with the
ability and the mindset to create
aesthetically pleasing, buildable design
solutions that align with his client’s
visions.
